Written and Photographed by Randall Bohl 10 States 10 Days is the story of a lone but joyous motorcycle ride. Motivated by the movie Easy Rider but without the complications of a riding partner. Randall traveled 4,410 miles from Ann Arbor, Michigan to Scottsdale, Arizona, not exactly the direct route! The story is illustrated with 130 beautiful full color photographs from the shorelines of Michigan to the deserts of Arizona with the rolling farmlands of the Plains States and Rocky Mountains vistas in between. As well as an unplanned "side ride" to Sturgis for a day at the rally and a ride in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Randall rides simply for the joy of riding, of traveling light, riding the two lane roads of America and not knowing where the day will end. He is a commercial photographer by trade and brings a graphic eye to landscapes finding the simplest, yet bold image to convey where he is. Photographing very few people, only a few buildings. His writing is about the travel and his photo's are about being on the land. Oh and one Antelope in Wyoming. Randall has a knack for finding cheap motels (friends houses) and great mom pop diners sticking to the smallest towns possible. Overnights include Chelsea, Kalamazoo, Suttons Bay and Silver City Michigan. Crookston Minnesota, Newell South Dakota, Buffalo and Powell Wyoming, Butte Montana, Twin Falls Idaho, Provo Utah, and Fredonia Arizona.
